Sans Street Youth and Community centre has been operating for 35 years. The project

attracts 40+ people from the area per week who take full advantage of the resources

including coffee bar, drop in area, meeting room, nintendo wii & TV, computer room,

education suite, indoor sports hall & indoor climing wall. And we have aimed courses

at schools for over 25 years.

 

The aim of the programme is to motivate and empower young people in a supportive

& friendly atmosphere. Some of the skill building we offer are team buliding, self

confidence, communicative skills, CV & interview skills as well as lots more.

 

The youth workers are trained to tackle a wide range of issues young people may

come accross including:

Crime & disorder

Sexual education

Healthy eating

Drugs & alcohol

Racial Discrimination

Self Esteem

Bullying

 

At SSYCC we offer a variety of accreditation opportunites for young people which include:

• ASDAN Award - Gold, silve & bronze
• Mayors Award
• Youth Acheivement Awards
• Duke of Edinburgh Awards
• John Muir Conservation
• National Navigation Scheme
• Adventure Service Award
• SSYCC in house training certificate

All with the aim of improving young people's employability, social skills and self esteem.
